Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated 45 new Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs and said the city aims to expand the number of neighbourhood health centres from 415 to 1,100 in the coming months.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the newly inaugurated centres in Shakoorpur are part of the government's commitment to ensuring that every Delhi resident has access to quality healthcare services close to their home.
She said that more than 415 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs are currently operational in Delhi and that the government plans to increase the number to over 1,100 soon.
According to the Chief Minister, these centres offer outpatient services, maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, essential medicines, and 80 types of free diagnostic tests.
She added that MLA Tilak Ram Gupta, MCD Councillor Kishan Lal, District President Ajay Khatana, and other dignitaries attended the inauguration.
Earlier, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the inauguration of the 45 facilities marks the seventh phase of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative.
He said the centres are aimed at bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities, with a focus on preventive, promotive, and comprehensive primary healthcare.
The latest launch follows the operationalisation of 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across Delhi, including 244 Urban Sub Health Centres and 126 Urban Primary Health Centres, reflecting the government's continued efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.
The new centres will provide a wide range of services, including maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, screening and management of non-communicable diseases, treatment of common illnesses, essential medicines, diagnostic services, and health promotion and wellness programmes.
"The dedication of 45 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs marks another important milestone in our efforts to make quality healthcare accessible, affordable and equitable for every resident of Delhi," the Health Minister said.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government remains committed to expanding healthcare infrastructure and building a robust, citizen-centric healthcare system across the city.
