Delhi CM Rekha Gupta visits Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, reviews health services

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Mayur Vihar Phase II on Sunday and interacted with patients and their attendants to review the healthcare facilities and services being provided at the hospital.

During the visit, the Chief Minister listened to the experiences, suggestions, and expectations shared by patients and their families. She said direct interaction with citizens is essential for understanding ground-level issues and improving the healthcare system.

Rekha Gupta emphasised that public engagement is the foundation of an effective and responsive healthcare system. She added that patient feedback and concerns must remain central to efforts aimed at strengthening medical services across Delhi.

As part of her inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed cleanliness standards, the availability of medicines, and the overall quality of healthcare services. She also assessed patient facilities and interacted with hospital staff to understand operational challenges.

She directed the concerned officials to ensure that necessary improvements are implemented without delay. Stressing the need for timely action, she asked officials to address shortcomings and enhance the overall patient experience at government hospitals.

Rekha Gupta reiterated that the confidence and trust of every patient are of utmost importance to the Delhi government. She said the government remains committed to ensuring that every resident of the national capital receives timely, dignified, and quality healthcare services.

The visit is part of the Delhi government's ongoing efforts to strengthen public healthcare through regular hospital inspections, direct engagement with citizens, and close monitoring of service delivery.

The Chief Minister also said that healthcare institutions should provide not only quality medical treatment but also a supportive and respectful environment for patients and their attendants. She highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness, ensuring the availability of essential medicines, and continuously improving service standards.

The Delhi government reiterated that enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible medical services for all citizens remain among its top priorities.
