World Physiotherapy Day Goes Live with Exciting Mela – Sarvodaya Hospital

Faridabad: To mark World Physiotherapy Day, Sarvodaya Hospital, Sector-8, Faridabad, hosted a unique community event titled the “Physiotherapy Mela”, drawing enthusiastic participation from residents across the city.

The event combined awareness sessions, fun games, and engaging physical activities, aiming to highlight the vital role physiotherapy plays in everyday health and well-being.

The primary objective of the program was to emphasise that physiotherapy is not limited to rehabilitation after injuries or illnesses but is equally significant for maintaining long-term fitness, mobility, and a healthy lifestyle.

Through interactive activities, the event encouraged people of all ages to adopt regular exercise routines and physiotherapy practices to ensure an active and disease-free life.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dheerja Babbar, Group Head – Physiotherapy Department, Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, said: “Physiotherapy is often misunderstood as a treatment required only after an accident, surgery, or illness. In reality, it is a preventive and proactive approach to maintaining overall health.

Regular physical activity and physiotherapy techniques can prevent a range of chronic conditions, improve flexibility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.” She added that initiatives like the “Physiotherapy Mela” aim to raise awareness about how small lifestyle changes can have a big impact on long-term health.

Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Chairman, Sarvodaya Healthcare, echoed this sentiment, stating: “At Sarvodaya Hospital, we are committed to improving community health through education and awareness. Events such as the ‘Physiotherapy Mela’ not only inform people but also inspire them to take active steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

It is our mission to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to prevent diseases and enhance their well-being.”

Sarvodaya Hospital has been at the forefront of organising such community welfare programs, consistently working to promote healthier living and raise awareness about preventive healthcare.

With the success of the “Physiotherapy Mela,” the hospital once again reinforced its dedication to fostering a culture of wellness and encouraging people to integrate physiotherapy and regular exercise into their daily routines.
