From Joint Replacement to 10K Run: 4 Patients Inspire Recovery

In a powerful display of recovery and resilience, four patients from Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road successfully participated in the TCS World 10K Run Bengaluru 2026, after undergoing Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement surgeries. Once limited by severe pain and restricted mobility, these individuals have now completed a 10K run, marking a significant milestone in their journey back to active and independent living. Their stories highlight how advanced orthopaedic care, combined with determination, can help individuals regain not just mobility, but confidence and quality of life.

Among them is 71-year-old Mr. Basangauda, a former SBI staff member, who lived with chronic knee pain for over a decade. Simple daily movements had become difficult until he underwent Total Knee Replacement in both knees at Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road. From taking small, assisted steps to walking independently within two months, his recovery has been remarkable and today, he proudly completed the 10k run.

Similarly, 42-year-old Mr. Dileep Kumar Satani, a software engineer, battled worsening joint pain for nearly two years, which severely impacted his daily life and confidence.
