AIIMS New Delhi Ranked India's Top Medical Institution in QS Subject Rankings, Secures Global Rank 105

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has once again reinforced its position as India's premier medical institution by securing a global rank of 105 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for Medicine. The recognition places AIIMS at the top among Indian medical institutions and reflects its continued excellence in medical education, patient care, clinical services, and research.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject are among the most respected global rankings for higher education institutions. They assess universities based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, and international collaborations. AIIMS' strong performance reflects its growing recognition and influence in healthcare, medical education, and research, both in India and globally.

Apart from AIIMS, several other Indian institutions have secured positions in the global rankings. The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Karnataka, was placed in the 201–250 rank band, followed by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, in the 251–300 category.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, was ranked in the 351–400 band, while SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, featured in the 551–600 category. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, were placed in the 601–650 rank band.

The rankings demonstrate India's growing presence in global medical education. However, global leadership in medicine continues to be dominated by institutions from the United States and the United Kingdom. According to the QS rankings, Harvard University remains the world's top medical institution, followed by the University of Oxford and Stanford University.

Experts believe that India's medical institutions are steadily improving due to increased research output, better infrastructure, international collaborations, and a stronger focus on innovation. AIIMS New Delhi's performance is particularly significant as it reflects the institution's contribution to national healthcare priorities and medical research that impacts millions of patients.

With Indian institutions gradually improving their global standing, the rankings also highlight the need for continued investment in research, faculty development, and international academic partnerships to further strengthen India's position in global medical education.
